Ubisoft has offered an apology to all fans of this franchise, claiming that the source code documents of both of those expansions were lost to time, thus preventing porting of those titles to new platforms. Sadly, the HD re-release of the HOMM3 lacks both of the popular expansions, leaving the players to enjoy only the core campaigns of the original game. While this remaster manages to drastically improve the visuals present in the game with high-definition backgrounds and character 2D sprites, it did not satisfy the needs of gamers who wanted to experience the entirety of the old game in the improved visual package.
